I have been wasting the most precious thing God can give one of his children - Time! I have been going through the motions of life and not really living each day to its fullest. It isn't something that is noticeable to the casual bystander. But, through slow creep I have been using my time as Americans use oil, like there is no end. I have wasted so many of my days and nights either doing something I despise or sitting in front of the TV like a mindless zombie trying to be stimulated. Assuming that watching someone else live on TV is the same as living. I have for the last 20 months once a week had to drive 3 1/2 hours to a project for work. Once there work from 6 - 8 hours and then drive back 3 1/2 hours for a 13 - 15 hour day. This day is grueling, the drive is long and the work is predictable and boring. The whole ordeal drains me for the rest of the night and usually into the next day. I dread the day when I have to go and I try not to think about it. When I do get home I'm usually exhausted and in a bad mood so I'm short with my family. This causes me to feel remorseful for being short with my family and it causes them to be hurt and confused because they do not know why I'm irritable and short with them.
Is it worth it to spend 15 hours a week for 20 months doing something you despise. I mean is it worth (20 months x 4.33 weeks per month x 15 hours per week = 1300 hours) 1300 hours of my life doing this one thing a week that I truly despise. If you think about it, doing a job that is not fulfilling is spending one year wasting 2250 hours of your life. In a normal year you only have (18 hours day x 365 days a year = 6570 waking hours) 6570 waking hours and almost a third of it is at work. How do we go through life squandering the one thing we can never get more of - Time. We can always get more stuff, more money, more whatever, but nobody can get more time. Once our time on Earth is over it is over, why do we waste it?
I can not go on wasting my life, I do not know the plan yet, but through prayer, study, and hard work I will make my plan. Once I have the plan, I will work my plan and create a life that I'm compassionate about living. I know I will succeed because God desires this for his children.
I will not keep doing the same thing and expect different results. I will break my insanity and create a life worth living.

IF
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

The Armor of God - Ephesians 6:10-18
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
The day will come when your path is apparent. Stay focused on him and he will give you the path to follow. He has plans to use you in a mighty way for the glory of his kingdom. Work is a drag, unless your working for the LORD!!!!!
